About me

I love writing about the environment, science, and society. In recent years, I have focused on climate change, pollution, land use, and coastal ecosystems—with an eye on both the local and global picture.

My past experience includes working as a reporter and an editor in a few newsrooms, as well as collaborating with other journalists on cross-border stories as a freelancer.

In 2012, I co-founded IRPI, Italy's first center for investigative journalism, which I left in 2017. In 2016, I was awarded a fellowship by the Knight Foundation, Vice, and CUNY, which brought me for the first time to New York City. Two years later, I specialized in Science, environment, and medicine at Columbia Journalism School. Since my return to Italy in 2019, I've mostly focused on environmental stories from the Mediterranean region. With the idea of contributing to the coverage of climate change impacts on this area, in 2021 we started Magma.

Adoro scrivere di ambiente, scienza e società. Negli ultimi anni mi sono occupata di cambiamento climatico, inquinamento e del livello di stress a cui sono sottoposti gli ecosistemi costieri in prossimità delle grandi città.

Le mie esperienze vanno dal lavoro di editing e desk in redazione, alla realizzazione di servizi giornalistici per l'online e il cartaceo, alla collaborazione con giornalisti di altri Paesi come freelancer su casi transnazionali.

Nel 2012, insieme ad altri colleghi, ho dato vita al centro di giornalismo investigativo no-profit Investigative Reporting Project Italy - IRPI, dal quale sono poi uscita nel 2017. Nel 2016, grazie al Knight/Vice/CUNY Innovators’ Fund, sono atterrata per la prima volta a New York, dove nel 2018 mi sono specializzata in Scienza, ambiente e medicina alla Scuola di giornalismo della Columbia. Dal mio rientro in Italia nel 2019, mi sono concentrata sulle tematiche ambientali della regione mediterranea. Per contribuire a raccontare l'impatto dei cambiamenti climatici su quest'area, nel 2021 con altri colleghi abbiamo fondato Magma.
